R4S Widgets

These widgets may be installed into Learning Management Systems. The widget will appear as one large document. Two types of widgets are provided:

  • Javascript Widgets – Use a standard Javascript include/embed to incorporate the contents of R4S modules into your LMS content. This option is preferred; however, some learning management systems restrict the use of Javascript. In those cases, the alternative is to use the HTML widgets.
  • HTML Widgets – These widgets are simple HTML pages that may be added into your LMS as a stand-alone page or part of a module or lesson. This type of widget is supported by most learning management systems.

Javascript Widgets

To include a javascript widget within your LMS, you will need to insert the following code into your content. Please note, you must replace the '#' with the R4S module number:

<script type='text/javascript' src=''></script>

This example will display Module 5 within your LMS content. Use this same code replacing the module number with the module you wish to display.

<script type='text/javascript' src=''></script>

Please Note:

  • The code is typed as a single line with no returns
  • All characters are lowercase
  • Javascript is restricted in some learning management systems. If you attempt to use the javascript widgets and you do not see any results, chances are you will need to use the HTML widgets (see below) instead.

HTML Widgets

HTML widgets will work in nearly any LMS or web page.  You may download the R4S HTML widgets from the R4S widgets page and then upload them to your LMS.  In some learning management systems, you can simply link to the HTML widgets and the content will be inserted into the LMS automagically.  The HTML widgets are located at:

The HTML widgets have been tested in Moodle, Blackboard, Angel, Desire to Learn and on a standard web site.  The javascript widgets have been tested in Blackboard, Angel, Moodle and standard web pages; however, the javascript widgets may not be permitted in your LMS per security measures taken by your LMS administrator.
